Iran Vows to Turn Any Potential US Ground Operation into a Disaster

Share

The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has issued a strongly worded statement in response to rumors of US preparations for a ground invasion. Iranian military leaders claim full awareness of Washington’s plans and declare readiness to engage American forces in close-quarters combat.

In its official communiqué, the General Staff warned that any ground intervention would result in an unprecedented tragedy for the United States—one that would permanently alter the American public’s view of military service. Tehran threatened to transform the operation into a full-scale massacre, asserting that its defensive capabilities and intimate knowledge of the terrain would enable it to inflict unacceptable losses on any attacking forces.

The statement carried a mocking tone, noting that while American soldiers may currently feel secure in ports or hotels in neighboring countries, a full-scale ground war would leave them with no safe haven anywhere in the theater of operations.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran insists it will keep under its exclusive control. The General Staff affirmed that the vital waterway will remain closed indefinitely to American and Israeli vessels. Under no circumstances, it said, would “aggressors and Zionists” be allowed access, effectively imposing a long-term blockade on Western coalition forces in the Persian Gulf.

This hardline position raises serious questions about regional energy security and the viability of any swift resolution to the conflict under President Donald Trump’s vision of restoring international trade and control over the strait.
